FluroFest [MHAW]

Community Event [Tauranga, Bay of Plenty]

FluroFest promotes Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) - which is an annual campaign by the Mental Health Foundation, that works to help Kiwis understand what boosts their wellbeing and improves mental health.

FluroFest launched in 2019, and focuses on “Our Journey to Wellbeing”, specifically promoting the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, whilst supporting the different MHAW theme that is promoted each year.

It is an inclusive community event featuring fun, family-based entertainment and activities - providing entertainment and workshops on and off the main stage, giant games, free food and affordable food stalls, prizes and promotional giveaways, and also providing a range of info and resource stalls from various Bay of Plenty service providers and agencies. In 2022, we saw over 1300+ in attendance.

FluroFest is organised by the collaborative working group; Tauranga Youth Development Team, Tauranga City Council, and Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ). Tauranga Youth Development Team is responsible for the event management planning, and delivery of this event to our community.
