Nāku te rourou nāu te rourou ka ora ai te iwi With my basket, and your basket, we will sustain everyone
He Wānanga Waiora is a mental health & wellbeing focused workshop designed to inform, connect and engage service providers in the youth sector within the WBOP area.
Launched in May 2021, these informative sessions are held locally every 8 weeks, and are facilitated in collaboration with the BOPDHB - Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services. Between 60-80 practioners attend each workshop.
Guest speakers are invited to present on various mental health topics that are relevant to youth, and youth service providers. The focus is on creating further knowledge, understanding and skills that youth service providers can utilise themselves, and also equip the young people that they engage with.
At the end of the session a service provider is also invited (ahead of time) to share about their service, kaupapa, and resources - creating further awareness of available services in the wider Bay of Plenty.
